While the use of real-world data (RWD) in Japan has advanced, data originating from nursing has been largely left out. Much of what nurses, who are closest to patients, observe and judge is lost before it is ever recorded, and the records that remain have barely entered the frameworks for secondary use. In his presentation, Jinnouchi will discuss how to collect this untapped data from clinical practice and turn it into data that AI can use, drawing on our proof-of-concept work with wearable devices on an acute-care hospital ward.
